Call for Submissions
The competition is open to media organizations, think tanks, universities, enterprises, groups and individuals from all over the world, especially from Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, looking for articles, pictures and short videos on the development of the Greater Bay Area, Sino-foreign exchanges, innovation, case studies, and stories of cities, enterprises and people.
*Entries in all languages are accepted.
(Please make sure the work has no copyright disputes, is objective and truthful, and must not involve pornography, violence, racial discrimination or any other content prohibited by law, and product placement is not permitted.)
a. Articles
Entries must be independent (or collaborative) interviews, reviews, social media tweets, research and other written works, within 2,000 words, and works in non-common languages should be accompanied by a 500-word abstract in Chinese/English.
Works should be submitted in Word document form, and if it has been published in media, you need to submit a link to the report.
b. Pictures
Entries can be pictures, VR/AR or other visual works, either as single images or in groups, colour-based, and with a description of no more than 200 words. Content of group pictures must be interrelated.
The works should be submitted in a JPG format (with a maximum file size of 3MB) with a picture caption within 200 words in Word document.
c. Short Videos
The submitted works should be short videos, short documentaries, drone videos/photos, animation and other types of video content, mainly documentary works.
Suggested format: MOV or MP4; Resolution: 1080P (1920×1080px).
d. Stories of Zhongshan
We are looking for stories related to the history, culture, tourism, and economic development of Zhongshan, including stories of the city’s manufacturing industry, enterprise cooperation, expats’ life, and innovation stories of the city contributing to the construction of the Greater Bay Area.
*Entries submitted for the article, picture and short video categories can also be submitted for this category at the same time.
Prizes and Rewards
After selection in the preliminary, review and final rounds, one first prize (RMB10,000), three second prizes (RMB6,000) and six third prizes (RMB3,000) will be awarded in each of the article, picture, short video and “Stories of Zhongshan” categories.
(All above-mentioned cash awards are pre-tax amounts.)
The winning teams or individuals will receive an award certificate from the CICG and have the opportunity to share their creative experience at the award ceremony.
Winners will also have the opportunity to join the “China Storytelling Alliance” and participate in more new media international communication projects.

How to Submit:
1. Upload your video to your or your team’s account on Xigua Video, Toutiao, or Sina Weibo. Follow the platforms’ instructions and tick your video with the tag of #第三只眼看大湾区#.
2. As an option, send your video to mychinastory@cnmatters. com or through Baidu/Google drive (with link and password). The subject line of your email should follow this format: Name-Title of the video-“Competition Submissions”.
